Fatty Liver
Nutrition for fatty liver
Practical, evidence-based changes for fatty liver disease, the most common reason people are told to "improve their diet" after an ultrasound.
Fatty liver, now called metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), is often found by chance on an ultrasound. It is closely linked with weight, diabetes, cholesterol and blood pressure, and diet and lifestyle are central to managing it.
Hamna's approach follows current European liver guidelines: gradual weight loss where appropriate, cutting sugary drinks and refined foods, a balanced dietary pattern and more activity. There are no "liver detox" products or flushes in this plan.
