Weight Gain

Healthy weight gain, without relying on junk food

A structured plan to gain weight steadily using nutritious food, with checks for the reasons weight is hard to gain in the first place.

Being underweight can affect energy, immunity, periods, bone health and confidence. Advice to simply "eat more" rarely works when appetite is small, meals are skipped or the day is busy.

Hamna first looks at why weight is low, including medical causes that need a doctor. She then builds a practical plan around energy-dense, nutritious Pakistani food, regular meals and, where useful, strength-supporting protein.

Who this is for

This service may be right for you if:

  • You have been underweight for a long time and find it hard to gain
  • You have a small appetite or feel full quickly
  • You lost weight during illness, exams, stress or a hospital stay
  • You want to build muscle as well as weight
  • Your doctor has advised you to gain weight

How assessment works

  1. 01

    Medical background

Recent illness, medicines, thyroid or digestive symptoms, and anything that needs a doctor first.

  2. 02

    Eating pattern

Meal timing, skipped meals, portion sizes, snacks and drinks.

  3. 03

    Measurements

Weight history, BMI and, where useful, body composition.

  4. 04

    Appetite and routine

What gets in the way: time, appetite, stress, training load.

What your plan includes

  • A meal and snack structure that adds energy without relying on junk food
  • Energy-dense desi options: nuts, dairy, eggs, daal, healthy oils, smoothies and lassi
  • Protein guidance to support muscle, with or without training
  • Strategies for a small appetite
  • Regular monitoring and adjustment

What to expect

You will leave with a clear plan and agreed next steps.

Healthy weight gain is usually gradual. Follow-ups track progress and adjust the plan; no specific amount of weight gain is promised.

Common questions

When should I see a doctor first?
If weight loss is unexplained, recent or rapid, or comes with symptoms such as fever, diarrhoea, night sweats or a racing heart, please see a doctor first. Concerns about eating, body image or restricting food also need specialist support.
Should I take weight gainer supplements?
Usually food comes first. A supplement may be convenient for some people, and this is discussed based on your needs and budget.
Can I gain weight without gaining belly fat?
Combining enough protein with strength training helps more of the gain go to muscle. Results vary between individuals.
Is this suitable for teenagers?
Yes, with a parent or guardian involved. See children and teen nutrition.
Can I do this online?
Yes. You may be asked to share weights taken at home.
